Fundamental Electrotechnics 2

Abstract

Description

Course objective Fundamental Electrotechnics 2 2nd year of a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering This module is a continuation of a previous course in electrotechnics. It builds upon previously acquired knowledge, particularly the fundamental laws of electrical circuits and basic principles of magnetism, which constitute the essential foundation for understanding electromechanical phenomena. This course represents the student’s first formal introduction to electrical machines. The objective is not in-depth specialization, but rather the acquisition of fundamental concepts required to understand their operating principles. Upon completion of this module, the student should be able to: · Apply the fundamental laws of magnetism to magnetic circuits. · Understand the principles of electromagnetic energy conversion. · Perform single-phase and three-phase power calculations. · Analyze balanced three-phase systems. · Understand star (Y) and delta (Δ) connections. · Identify and determine simplified equivalent circuit parameters. · Understand the operating principles of major electrical machines:  Transformer  DC machine  Synchronous machine  Induction machine This module provides students with a structured and global understanding of electrical machines, forming the necessary foundation for more advanced studies in electrical engineering.
