Abstract

Soil liquefaction is a process that leads to a total loss of shear strength of loose sand under seismic loading accompanied by an increase in pore water pressure and deformation. Several factors related to soil properties and seismic excitation may be involved. Given the significant damage especially to human life, several studies have been carried out in order to better understand the phenomenon of liquefaction, based on the responses of soils undergoing liquefaction, which has led to the development of several empirical formulas. The purpose of this work is to analyze the liquefaction potential of a site intended for the construction of several villas in the wilaya of Boumerdes. This type of study is mandatory for each project located in an area susceptible to the problem of liquefaction. To do this, we established a program in Python language using the Spyder module to assess the liquefaction potential of the site in question. The approximate methods used are those based on the SPT, CPT and VS tests. The results obtained showed that the site intended for the construction of the villas is liquefiable in several points. Les méthodes approchées utilisées sont celles basées sur les essais SPT, CPT et VS. Les résultats obtenus ont montré que le site destiné à la construction des villas est liquéfiable dans plusieurs points. En plus, une étude comparative entre les trois méthodes du même site (2ème site) a indiqué que les résultats des méthodes approchées sont un peu différents.
