Biodiversité et écologie de deux mares temporaires dans la région de Machrouha. Cas de la mare d’El Matleg et celle d’El Madjen Nachef.

Abstract

This study focuses on the ecological characterisation and biological functioning of two temporary pools in the Machrouha region (Souk Ahras province). The El Matleg pool, characterised by relative hydrological stability, and the El Madjen Nachef pool, a fragile and highly unstable ecosystem. The physico-chemical parameters of the water were measured alongside an inventory of four biological compartments (leeches, insects, amphibians and benthic diatoms). The results reveal clear environmental heterogeneity. A total of 51 taxa were identified. The first site is characterised by a greater diversity of insects and leeches (such as Hirudo troctina), favoured by its stability. In contrast, the second site serves as a preferred refuge for amphibian reproduction, particularly for species belonging to the Salamandridae family, whilst also favouring the proliferation of thermophilic and basophilic diatoms. La mare d'El Matleg, caractérisée par une relative stabilité hydrologique, et la mare d'El Madjen Nachef, écosystème précaire et hautement instable. Les paramètres physico-chimique de l'eau ont été mesurés parallèlement à l'inventaire de quatre compartiments biologiques (sangsues, insectes, amphibiens et diatomées benthiques). Les résultats révèlent une hétérogénéité environnementale nette. Au total, 51 taxons ont été identifiés. Le premier site se distingue par une plus grande diversité d'insectes et de sangsues (telle qu'Hirudo troctina), favorisée par sa stabilité. En revanche, le second site constitue un refuge préférentiel pour la reproduction des amphibiens notamment les espèces appartenant à la famille des Salamandridae tout en favorisant la prolifération de diatomées thermophiles et basophiles. Cette recherche souligne l'importance écologique majeure de ces milieux éphémères en tant que réservoirs de biodiversité nécessitant des mesures de conservation urgentes.
