Item Investigation and Filtering of Harmonic Currents in Hybrids Renewable Energy System(PRZEGLĄD ELEKTROTECHNICZNY,, 2023-01-25) Djeghader, Yacine; Boumous,Zouhir; Boumous,SamiraAbstract. This study investigates and filters harmonic currents generated by a hybrid system with a storage system (photovoltaic-wind-battery) for Household Applications. In this paper, we prefer to use passive filtering to mitigate the harmonic currents especially the passive tuned filter (single and multiple). This method is the most used because it's cheap and effective. The hybrid system studied is used for power supply household applications. This modern system can improve efficiency, reliability, and security while reducing operating costs and offering flexibility. For better working for our system, we use two commands called maximum power point tracking command (MPPT); one for photovoltaic panels, and the second for the wind system, the pulse width modulation control (PWM) for the inverter, and for the control the battery we apply a DC/DC buck-boost. The simulation results obtained with filtering show the improvement of current waveforms and acceptable values of total harmonic distortion (THD).Item Power Quality Enhancement Using Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC) Controlled by Backstepping Controller(U.P.B. Sci. Bull., Series C Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, 2023-03-01) Djeghader, Yacine; Boumous,Zouhir; Boumous ,SamiraNowadays due to remarkable development in power electronics, the use of non-linear loads has become prominent. These loads draw distorted (non-sinusoidal) currents from the power supply (harmonics generation) resulting in an increase in harmonics injected into the power system. This article presents the Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC) for compensation voltages and current disturbances. Our dispositive study has dual benefits of series and shunts active filters as it improves the power quality. The approach consists in injecting harmonic current and voltage into the system with the same magnitude and inverse phase as the load current and voltage harmonics to cancel out the undesired harmonic components. In this article, we use a nonlinear controller called a backstepping controller for the DC bus. The results of simulations obtained under MATLAB/Simulink show the effectiveness of the controller used.Item STUDY AND ANALYSIS OF THE PROPAGATION OF HARMONICS IN ELECTRICAL GRID CONNECTED PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM(DIAGNOSTYKA JOURNAL, 2023-03-27) Djeghader, Yacine; Boumous ,Samira; Boumous,ZouhirRenewable energy sources especially solar energy connected to an electrical grid system by using power electronic devices, known that devices degrade the power quality and especially generate harmonic currents. This article presents the study investigation and propagation of harmonics in the integration system of an electric grid connected to the photovoltaic system in the presence or not of a non-linear load (polluting load). In this study, the perturb and observe type MPPT controller for the boost converter and the PWM control for the three-phase inverter which provides the connection are used. We use a passive filtering technique (single and multiple filters) to mitigate the harmonic currents generated by the non-linear load. In the first case where the integration system is alone, the results obtained show that the values of the total harmonic distortion (THD) rates are within the standard used. But in the case of the presence of the non-linear load, the THD values are higher than the used norm. After using our proposed technique, the values of THD obtained are in the norm used for the application of a tuned filter at the fifth harmonic, and better results find with using of multiple filters (fifth and seventh).
