Abstract

Summary: This paper investigates the important and controversial issue of Arabizing the teaching of scientific subjects. It employs a questionnaire to collect data from students at the University of Science and Technology in Souk Ahras. The study raises the question of whether Arabic can be a well-established language of science. It emphasizes that Arabic possesses rich qualities that allow it to be used as a language of science. The researcher delves into the Arabization of education, its concept and trajectory in Algeria. It then addresses the relationship between Arabization and language planning and policy, as Arabization has been at the forefront of their objectives and has played a significant role in guiding their efforts. The study also sheds light on one of the main obstacles to the Arabization of education, namely the linguistic duality facing Arab countries, including Algeria, where Arabic is used as the official language, while a foreign language is used in science. The study proposes computer techniques as a potential solution to enhance the status of Arabic as a language of science. It seeks to assess the feasibility of Arabizing science in terms of its impact on students in Algerian universities, taking the University of Souk Ahras as a case study --------------------- ملخّص: تناولت هذه المذكّرة دراسة لقضيّة هامّة ومثيرة للجدل لها أبعاد عميقة، تتمثّل في إمكانيّة تعريب تعليميّة المواد العلميّة، تمّ فيها الاستعانة با استبيان لجمع البيانات من طلبة جامعة العلوم والتّكنولوجيا بسوق أهراس، وقد أثارت هذه الدّراسة تساؤلا حول إمكانيّة أن تكون الّلغة العربيّة لغة علميّة راسخة، تمّ فيها التّأكيد أنّ الّلغة العربيّة تمتلك مقوّمات غنيّة تسمح باستخدامها كلغة علم، قام فيها الباحث بالتّطرّق إل تعريب التّعليم من ناحية مفهومه ومساره في الجزائر، ثمّ تمّ التّطرق إلى العلاقة بين التّعريب والتّخطيط والسياسة الّلغويين كون التّعريب كان في طليعة أهدافهما ولهما دور كبير في توجيه جهوده، مع التّعريج على دواعي التّعريب وأثره على مستوى التّعليم العالي كما تلقي هذه الدّراسة الضّوء على أحد أهم معيقات تعريب التّعليم وهي الثّنائيّة الّلغويّة التّي تواجه الدّول العربيّة من بينها الجزائر حيث تستخدم الّلغة العربيّة كلغة رسميّة، بينما تستخدم الّلغة الأجنبيّة في العلم، وتقترح الدّراسة تقنيات الحاسوب كحل محتمل لتعزيز مكانة الّلغة العربيّة كلغة علم، وقد سعت الدّراسة إلى رصد مدى قابليّة تعريب العلوم من حيث تأثير ذلك على الطّلبة في الجامعة الجزائريّة متّخذّة من جامعة سوق أهراس --------------------- Résumé: Ce mémoire examine une question importante et controversée aux dimensions profondes, à savoir la possibilité d'arabiser l'enseignement des matières scientifiques. Il utilise un questionnaire pour collecter des données auprès des étudiants de l'Université des sciences et de la technologie de Souk Ahras. L'étude soulève la question de savoir si l'arabe peut être une langue scientifique bien établie. Elle souligne que l'arabe possède de riches qualités qui lui permettent d'être utilisé comme langue de science. Le chercheur se penche sur l'arabisation de l'éducation, son concept et sa trajectoire en Algérie. Il aborde ensuite la relation entre l'arabisation et la planification et la politique linguistiques, car l'arabisation a été au premier plan de leurs objectifs et a joué un rôle important dans l'orientation de leurs efforts. L'étude met également en lumière l'un des principaux obstacles à l'arabisation de l'éducation, à savoir la dualité linguistique à laquelle sont confrontés les pays arabes, dont l'Algérie, où l'arabe est utilisé comme langue officielle, tandis qu'une langue étrangère est utilisée dans la science. L'étude propose les techniques informatiques comme solution potentielle pour renforcer la place de l'arabe comme langue de science. Elle vise à évaluer la faisabilité de l'arabisation de la science en termes de son impact sur les étudiants des universités algériennes, en prenant l'Université de Souk Ahras comme cas d'étude.
