Abstract

Abstract: Decade, Extremism, Algerian Novel, Violence, Individual and Society. This study examines the image of death and terrorism in the novel Memory of Water by Waciny Laredj. The research is divided into three main sections. The first section reviews the development of the novel from its Western origins to its Algerian form. The second section discusses the concept of death and terrorism, along with their forms and methods. The third section addresses the portrayal of death and terrorism in the novel and their effects on both the individual and society during the Black Decade of the 1990s. The study also sheds light on the underlying causes behind the spread of extremism and the motives that extremists sought to achieve during that period. -------------------- الملخص تتناول هذه الدراسة صورة الموت والإرهاب في رواية "ذاكرة الماء" للكاتب واسيني الأعرج، حيث تم تقسيم البحث إلى ثلاثة أقسام رئيسية، القسم الأول يستعرض مسار الرواية من الطابع الغربي إلى الطابع الجزائري، أما القسم الثاني فيتناول مفهوم الموت والإرهاب، وأشكالهما وأساليبهما، وفي القسم الثالث تم التطرق إلى تصوير الموت والإرهاب في الرواية وآثارهما على الفرد والمجتمع خلال فترة العشرية السوداء في تسعينيات القرن العشرين. كما سلطت الدراسة الضوء على الأسباب الكامنة وراء انتشار التطرف والدوافع التي كان يسعى المتطرفون لتحقيقها خلال تلك الفترة. ------------------------ décennie noire, extrémisme, roman algérien, violence, individu et société. À travers cette étude consacrée à l’image de la mort et du terrorisme dans le roman Mémoire de l’eau de Waciny Laredj, nous avons structuré notre recherche en trois parties principales. La première porte sur l’évolution du roman en général, depuis ses origines occidentales jusqu’au roman algérien. La deuxième est consacrée à la définition de la mort et du terrorisme, ainsi qu’à leurs formes et méthodes. Quant à la troisième partie, elle analyse les représentations de la mort et du terrorisme dans le roman et met en évidence leurs effets sur l’individu et la société durant la Décennie noire des années 1990 en Algérie. Cette étude a également permis de mettre en lumière les causes de l’extrémisme ainsi que les motivations et les objectifs poursuivis par les groupes terroristes.
