Caractérisation phytochimique et exploration des propriétés antioxydantes d’une plante médicinale (Combretum micranthum)

Abstract

This work aims to promote the use of kinkeliba (Combretum micranthum), a plant species widely used in traditional medicine and sold in Mauritanian markets, through phytochemical analysis and an evaluation of its antioxidant activity. It also investigates the impact of marketing conditions and preparation methods on the biological properties of this plant species. The study began with a survey conducted in Mauritania and Algeria to gather traditional knowledge related to the use of medicinal plants, particularly kinkeliba, as well as its main therapeutic uses. Qualitative phytochemical analyses and the quantification of condensed tannins were then performed on the leaves of this species. The phytochemical screening revealed the presence of several bioactive compounds, including polyphenols, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, mucilage, and reducing compounds. The evaluation of the total antioxidant activity and DPPH radical scavenging capacity of different aqueous kinkeliba extracts showed that the macerated extract exhibited the highest antioxidant activity, with an IC50 value below 65 µg/ml. These results highlight the therapeutic potential of kinkeliba and encourage further, more in-depth studies. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- يهدف هذا العمل إلى تعزيز استخدام نبات الكينكيليبا (Combretum micranthum)، وهو نوع نباتي يُستخدم على نطاق واسع في الطب التقليدي ويُباع في الأسواق الموريتانية، وذلك من خلال التحليل الكيميائي النباتي وتقييم نشاطه المضاد للأكسدة. كما يهتم ايضا بتأثير ظروف التسويق وطرق التحضير على الخصائص البيولوجية لهذا النوع النباتي. بدأت الدراسة باستبيان ميداني أُجري في موريتانيا والجزائر لجمع المعارف التقليدية المتعلقة باستخدام النباتات الطبية، لا سيما الكينكيليبا و استخداماته العلاجية الرئيسية. أُجريت بعدها تحليلات كيميائية نباتية نوعية وقياس كمي للعفص المكثف على أوراق هذا النوع. كشف الفحص الكيميائي النباتي عن وجود العديد من المركبات النشطة بيولوجيًا، بما في ذلك البوليفينولات، الفلافونويدات، التانينات ) العفص(، الصابونينات، المواد الهلامية و المركبات المرجعة. أظهر تقييم النشاط الكلي لمضادات الأكسدة وقدرة مستخلصات الكينكيليبا المائية المختلفة على تثبيط جذور DPPH الحرة أن المستخلص المنقوع يتمتع بأعلى نشاط مضاد للأكسدة، بقيمة IC50 أقل من 65 ميكروغرام/مل. تُبرز هذه النتائج الإمكانات العلاجية للكينكيليبا، وتشجع على إجراء المزيد من الدراسات المعمقة. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ce travail vise à valoriser le kinkeliba (Combretum micranthum) , une espèce végétale largement utilisée en médecine traditionnelle et commercialisée sur les marchés mauritaniens, à travers une analyse phytochimique et une évaluation de de son activité antioxydante. Il s’intéresse également à la détermination de l’impact des conditions de commercialisation, et des méthodes de préparation sur les propriétés biologiques de cette espèce végétale. L’étude a débuté par une enquête réalisée en Mauritanie et en Algérie afin de recueillir les connaissances traditionnelles liées à l’utilisation des plantes médicinales, en particulier du kinkeliba, ainsi que ses principaux usages thérapeutiques. Des analyses phytochimiques qualitatives ainsi qu’un dosage des tanins condensés ont ensuite été effectués sur les feuilles de cette espèce. Le criblage phytochimique a révélé la présence de plusieurs composés bioactifs, notamment les polyphénols, les flavonoïdes, les tanins, les saponines, les mucilages et les composés réducteurs. L’évaluation de l’activité antioxydante totale ainsi que de la capacité de piégeage vis-à-vis du radical DPPH des différents extraits aqueux de kinkeliba a montré que l’extrait obtenu par macération présente la plus importante activité antioxydante, avec une valeur d’IC50 inférieure à 65 µg/ml. Les résultats obtenus mettent en évidence le potentiel thérapeutique du kinkeliba et encouragent la poursuite d’études complémentaires plus approfondies.
