Abstract
Water, is a simple molecule which is very important for all kind of life and for development of populations. The increase in the requirements of water and the availability of water of good quality remain a big challenge, particularly for Algeria. It is an invaluable and essential natural resource for multiple uses, which requires an excellent physical, chemical and microbiological quality.
The objective of our work is to evaluate the quality of the water of AIN-DALIA dam and to verify its aptitude for domestic consumption by realization of physico-chemical and bacteriological analysis of three samples of water obtained from three different sites during the period of February until May 2018.
We have studied the effect of some physicochemical parameters which are: temperature, pH, electrical conductivity, alkalinity, carbonates and bicarbonates, organic matter, hardness, turbidity, nitrites, nitrates, chlorides, calcium, magnesiumand dry residue.
Concerning the bacteriological parameters, our study was based on research and enumeration of total germs (total and faecal coliforms, faecal Streptococci) which constitute the determining criteria of quality, potability and water security.
Our analysis results during the period of February until May 2018, confirm that this water is not threatened by mineral or chemical pollution and it is useful for consumption or in agricultural irrigation. The results of water that have been treated by the station of Ain Dalia are in conformity with the Algerian standards of potability.
