Abstract

This dissertation, entitled The Construction of Poor Speech in Le Fils du pauvre by Mouloud Feraoun: A Semio-Discursive Approach, examines the discursive and semiotic mechanisms through which the novel constructs a form of "poor speech" while granting it symbolic and social legitimacy. Drawing on discourse analysis, structural semiotics, and the semio-discursive approach, the study demonstrates that poverty is not merely depicted as a material condition. It is constructed through enunciative strategies, lexical choices, narrative modalities, and a network of bodily, vestimentary, and spatial signs that contribute to meaning-making. The novel brings forth an authentic voice whose strength lies in the articulation between lived experience, social memory, and narrative polyphony. The findings reveal that the legitimacy of this "poor speech" emerges both from the concrete anchoring of signs of deprivation and from the narrator's ability to transform an individual experience into a collective and universal representation of the human condition. -----------------------

الملخص تتناول هذه المذكرة الموسومة بـ"بناء خطاب الفقر في رواية 'ابن الفقير' لمولود فرعونمقاربة سيميائية تداولية" الآليات الخطابية والسيميائية التي تُشيِّد من خلالها الرواية شكلاً من "الخطاب الفقير" مع منحه شرعية رمزية واجتماعية. تعتمد الدراسة على تحليل الخطاب، والسيميائيات البنيوية، والمقاربة السيميائية التداولية، وتظهر أن الفقر لا يُقدَّم كوضع مادي فحسب، بل يُبنى أيضاً من خلال استراتيجيات تلفظية، واختيارات معجمية، وأنماط سردية، بالإضافة إلى شبكة من العلامات الجسدية واللباسية والمكانية التي تسهم في إنتاج المعنى. تبرز الرواية صوتاً أصيلاً تستمد قوته من التفاعل بين التجربة المعيشة، والذاكرة الاجتماعية، وتعدد الأصوات السردية. تؤكد النتائج أن شرعية هذا "الخطاب الفقير" تنبثق من الترسانة الملموسة لعلامات الحرمان، ومن قدرة السارد على تحويل تجربة فردية إلى تمثيل جماعي وإنساني شامل للوجود الإنساني --------------- Ce mémoire, intitulé La construction de la parole « pauvre » dans Le Fils du pauvre de Mouloud Feraoun : approche sémiodiscursive, analyse les mécanismes discursifs et sémiotiques par lesquels le roman élabore une parole marquée par la pauvreté tout en lui conférant une légitimité symbolique et sociale. L'étude, qui croise l'analyse du discours, la sémiotique structurale et l'approche sémiodiscursive, démontre que la pauvreté ne se réduit pas à une simple condition matérielle. Elle est construite à travers des procédés énonciatifs, lexicaux et narratifs, ainsi que par des signes corporels, vestimentaires et spatiaux. Le récit fait émerger une parole authentique dont la force réside dans l'articulation entre l'expérience vécue, la mémoire sociale et la polyphonie narrative. Les résultats montrent que la légitimité de cette « parole pauvre » se fonde sur l'ancrage concret des signes de la misère et sur la capacité du narrateur à transformer une expérience individuelle en une représentation collective et universelle de la condition humaine
