Abstract : This research paper explores the relationship between orthography, phonology, and phonological awareness in French language learning. The main objective of the study was to analyze the impact of phonological awareness on learners' spelling skills. The results demonstrated a significant correlation between phonological awareness and spelling skills. Learners with a better awareness of the sounds of the language showed a notable improvement in their orthography, while those with phonological difficulties made more errors. These findings underline the importance of phonology in spelling acquisition. Phonological awareness allows learners to understand the correspondences between sounds and graphemes, facilitating accurate spelling of words. In conclusion, this research highlights the crucial role of phonological awareness in the development of spelling skills in French. ------------

الملخص يستكشف هذا البحث العلاقة بين الإملاء وعلم الصوتيات والوعي الصوتي في تعلم اللغة الفرنسية. الهدف الرئيسي من الدراسة هو تحليل تأثير الوعي الصوتي على مهارات التهجئة لدى المتعلمين. أظهرت النتائج وجود علاقة ذات دلالة بين الوعي الصوتي والقدرات الإملائية. أظهر المتعلمون الذين يتمتعون بوعي أفضل لأصوات اللغة تحسنًا ملحوظًا في التهجئة، بينما ارتكب المتعلمون الذين يعانون من صعوبات صوتية مزيدًا من الأخطاء. تؤكد هذه النتائج أهمية علم الصوتيات في اكتساب التهجئة. يسمح الوعي الصوتي للمتعلمين بفهم العلاقات بين الأصوات والرموز الصوتية، مما يسهل تهجئة الكلمات بدقة. في الختام، يسلط هذا البحث الضوء على الدور الحاسم للوعي الصوتي في تطوير مهارات التهجئة في اللغة الفرنسية. ------------ Résumé Ce mémoire de recherche explore la relation entre l'orthographe, la phonologie et la conscience phonologique dans l'apprentissage du français. L'objectif principal de l'étude était d'analyser l'impact de la conscience phonologique sur les compétences orthographiques des apprenants. Les résultats ont démontré une corrélation significative entre la conscience phonologique et les compétences orthographiques. Les apprenants ayant une meilleure conscience des sons de la langue ont présenté une amélioration notable de leur orthographe, tandis que ceux ayant des difficultés phonologiques ont commis davantage d'erreurs. Ces résultats soulignent l'importance de la phonologie dans l'apprentissage de l'orthographe. La conscience phonologique permet aux apprenants de comprendre les correspondances entre les sons et les graphèmes, facilitant ainsi une orthographe correcte des mots. En conclusion, cette recherche met en évidence le rôle crucial de la conscience phonologique dans le développement des compétences orthographiques en français.
