L’expression du temps en arabe et en français Etude comparative

Abstract

Abstract This thesis focuses on the analysis of time expression in Albert Camus's novel "The Stranger" and its translation into Arabic. The main objective is to identify and analyze the ways in which time is expressed in the original narrative and to compare them with those used in the Arabic translation, adopting a comparative approach. The methodology includes examining the morphological, syntactic, and semantic aspects of temporal markers, as well as applying Gérard Genette's narratological theories. Specifically, we concentrated on Genette's concepts of order, duration, frequency, and rhythm in the narrative to understand how temporality is structured and perceived in both languages. The results of our study show that grammatical and syntactic structures differ significantly between French and Arabic. The translator had to employ various strategies to maintain fidelity to the original text and preserve temporal nuances. ----------------------- لملخص تركز هذه الأطروحة على تحليل التعبير الزمني في رواية “الغريب” لألبير كامو ونسختها المترجمة إلى العربية. الهدف الرئيسي هو تحديد وتحليل الوسائل التي يتم استخدامها للتعبير عن الزمن في النص السردي الأصلي ومقارنتها مع تلك المستخدمة في الترجمة العربية من خلال اعتماد المنهج المقارن. وتشمل المنهجية المستخدمة فحص الجوانب المورفولوجية والنحوية والدلالية للعلامات و العناصر الزمنية، إلى جانب تطبيق نظريات السرد لجيرارد جينيت. و بشكل خاص، ركزنا على مفاهيم جينيت فيما يتعلق بالنظام والمدة والتكرار والإيقاع في السرد، لفهم كيفية تنظيم الزمانية وإدراكها في كلتا اللغتين.. أظهرت نتائج دراستنا أن البنى النحوية والصرفية تختلف بشكل كبير بين الفرنسية والعربية. كان على المترجم استخدام استراتيجيات متنوعة للحفاظ على الولاء للنص الأصلي والحفاظ على الفروق الزمنية الدقيقة. ---------------------- Résumé Ce mémoire porte sur l'analyse de l'expression de temps dans le roman « L'Étranger » d'Albert Camus et sa traduction en arabe. L'objectif principal est d'identifier et d'analyser les moyens par lesquels le temps est exprimé dans le récit original et de les comparer avec ceux utilisés dans la traduction arabe en adoptant une approche comparative. La méthodologie utilisée comprend l'examen des aspects morphologiques, syntaxiques et sémantiques des marqueurs temporels, ainsi que l'application des théories narratologiques de Gérard Genette. En particulier, nous nous sommes concentrés sur les concepts de Genette concernant l'ordre, la durée et la fréquence et le rythme dans le récit, pour comprendre comment la temporalité est structurée et perçue dans les deux langues. Les résultats de notre étude montrent que les structures grammaticales et syntaxiques diffèrent de manière significative entre le français et l'arabe. Le traducteur a dû utiliser diverses stratégies pour maintenir la fidélité au texte original et préserver les nuances temporelles
