Analyse comparative de la structure des phrases interrogatives en français et en anglais Approche générative

Abstract

Abstract Within the framework of a comparative study, our research focuses on the analysis of interrogative sentences in both French and English. The aim of this study is to identify and analyze the similarities and differences between the two linguistic systems concerning the morphosyntactic structure and semantic functioning of interrogative forms. In order to conduct our study properly, we relied on the works of Noam Chomsky, Maurice Grevisse and Tallerman. Our corpus is based on selected extracts from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s novel “Le Petit Prince”, translated into English by Katherine Woods as “The Little Prince”. Our research reveals similarities and differences in how interrogative sentences are constructed and interpreted in both languages depending on the context. --------------------- ملخص في إطار دراسة مقارنة، يتناول عملنا البحثي تحليل بنية الجمل الاستفهامية في كل من اللغتين الفرنسية والإنجليزية. ويهدف هذا العمل إلى تحديد أوجه التشابه والاختلاف بين هذين النظامين اللغويين فيما يتعلق بالبنية الصرفية-التركيبية والوظائف الدلالية للجمل الاستفهامية. ومن أجل إنجاز هذه الدراسة بشكل دقيق، اعتمدنا على أعمال كل من نعوم تشومسكي، موريس غريفيس، وتالرمان. وقد اخترنا كعينة للدراسة مقتطفات من رواية أنطوان دو سانت إكزوبيري «الأمير الصغير»، المترجمة إلى اللغة الإنجليزية من قبل كاثرين وودز . وقد كشفت لنا نتائج البحث عن أوجه تشابه واختلاف في بناء الجمل الاستفهامية وطريقة عملها في كل لغة، وذلك بحسب السياق. ------------------------------- Résumé Dans le cadre d’une étude comparative, notre travail de recherche traite l’analyse de la structure des phrases interrogatives dans les deux langues, le français et l’anglais. L’objectif de ce travail est d’identifier les similarités et les différences entre ces deux systèmes linguistiques concernant la structure morphosyntaxique et les fonctionnements sémantiques des phrases interrogatives. Afin de bien mener notre étude, nous nous sommes basées sur les travaux de Noam Chomsky, Maurice Grevisse et Tallerman. Nous avons choisi comme corpus des extraits du roman d’Antoine de Saint-Exupéry « Le Petit Prince », traduit en anglais par Katherine Woods sous le titre « The Little Prince ». Notre recherche nous dévoile des ressemblances et des divergences concernant la construction interrogative et son fonctionnement dans chaque langue selon le contexte.
